Sending a Mail

You are free to send mail to inmates in Cumberland County Jail All mail except legal mail (such as a letter from an attorney or the courts) is inspected for prohibited materials and content before it is delivered to the inmate.

Deliveries are made Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Legal mail is opened in the presence of the person who received it.

• Electronic devices

• Oversized greeting cards

• Plastic cards

• Carbon paper

• Metal objects

Returned Mail

Mail that contains prohibited or fails to include the person in jail’s name, gallery, and housing unit will be returned to the sender. It typically takes several weeks for mail to be returned.

Commissary account

In person at kiosk: Deposit money in person 24 hours a day, seven days a week using on-site kiosks at both Cumberland County Jail, 90 Justice Center Drive, Crossville, TN, 38555. You must have a valid driver’s license or state ID.

By telephone: To deposit money for a person in Cumberland County Jail , call 931-484-6176 and use site ID.

By US mail: You can deposit money by mailing a prepaid money order, other accredited prepaid money order, or US government check to the jail where the individual is housed.

Make money orders payable to Cumberland County Jail Commissary. The inmate’s name (the same one used when processed into jail), cell housing number, date of birth, and gallery number must appear on the money order. Money orders without the necessary information will be returned. Do not send cash, personal and payroll checks, or credit card numbers by mail.

Visiting Rules

If you want to visit an inmate, you must schedule the visit one day before the desired visit day. You can schedule both individual and family visits.
