  The latest in a line of punchy Eurotrash bearing some nebulous connection to Luc Besson (apparently he co-wrote it), this continues in the action/comedy brain-off of Taxi and District 13. Here it's the venerable French comic book character Michel Vaillant who gets an update with this big, silly boys' own story transplanted to the 21st century.

  As such it's actually rather fun; racing films tend to suffer from implausible soap opera so this one actively embracing comic book serials actually works - sabotage via sniper rifles, kidnapping, foot chases across a busy Le Mans circuit, car-swapping and a last lap duel between a car with a blown engine and a car with a blown tyre; this is not a serious film.

  Voted worst English translated description on TMDB /s. I didn't actually watch this yet. LB said that JustWatch said it had become available, but instead links to a terrible looking film called 24 Hours... probably because the main character is from a French comic and something about the 24 hours of Le Mans. Anyway had to post for the lovely description.

  Another poor adaptation of a beloved European graphic novel series. Besson should really stay away from these.

  The funniest thing in the german synchronisation is that they speak german the whole time and than randomly start cursing in english.

  Woof, das war Kacke, irgendwo hier schrieb jemand, dass der einzige Grund, warum er sich den Film reingezogen hat, das legendäre Intro der Zeichentrickserie war. Und selbst das bekommt man nicht. Der Rest ist auch mies. Das Ding sieht aus, wie heute Marvel Filme aussehen und ist trotz viel Actionschwachsinns unfassbar langweilig und ich mag auch die Figur nicht, vermutlich weil die Erinnerung in meinem Kopf aus der Zeichentrickfigur einfach so viel besser sind. Ich muss damit aufhören, Kindheitshelden in Real-Action zu gucken, der Vergleich kann nicht standhalten.
